Marc Abood, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor
Judge Abood was re-appointed to the Michigan Tax Tribunal in February 2016 and adjudicates tax appeals involving real and personal property throughout the state of Michigan. He was originally appointed to the Tax Tribunal from 2010 to 2015. Prior to coming to the Tribunal, for the past 25 years, Judge Abood owned and operated a real property valuation practice. He is a past president of the Mid-Michigan Chapter and holds an SRA designation with the Appraisal Institute. Judge Abood is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in the State of Michigan. He is a former instructor with Lansing Community College having taught valuation courses from 1999 to 2011. In addition, he is an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor with The Appraisal Foundation since 2005.

Tim Andersen has been actively involved in the appraisal of real property since 1986. Since then he has worked for some of the largest appraisal firms in Palm Beach County, Florida, the County Property Appraisers Office, as well as himself. His experience in appraisal extends from Key West in the south to Brooksville on the northwest part of the state, and many places in between. This experience includes, vacant sites and raw land, office buildings, apartment complexes, warehouses, schools, day care centers, condo units, condo complexes, and so forth. He has done expert witness work, tax appeals, eminent domain, mortgage, and estate work.
In 1990, the former Society of Real Estate Appraisers awarded him the SRPA designation. In 1997, the Appraisal Institute awarded him the MAI designation. In 2002, he qualified to be a USPAP instructor. He still teaches both the 7-hour update and 15-hour qualifying classes to both real property and personal property appraisers. His formal education consists of a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, as well as a Master of Science degree, specifically in real estate appraisal, from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis.
Teaching, writing, and consulting with his fellow appraisers are what he loves to do. He started teaching the sales persons and brokerage classes in the mid 80s at the local community college, then taught basic appraisal classes when it offered those programs. He has taught for the Appraisal Institute, the National Association of Master Appraisers, the National Association of Appraisers, National Aircraft Appraisers Association, the Association of Texas appraisers, the State of Arkansas, the State of Oklahoma, the Wisconsin Realtors® Association, the Columbia Institute, as well as numerous proprietary schools. In addition to teaching, he has also written numerous articles on various facets of real estate appraisal, two books (with another in the works), as well as numerous classes and seminars on various real estate appraisal-related topics.
Tim and his wife Debbie live in Florida, with their three children and their four grandchildren close by.
James A. Baumberger
James A. Baumberger is Chief Executive Officer and minority owner of First Choice Appraisal Management (FCAM). Jim has an outstanding record of providing inspirational executive leadership for appraisal organizations serving the financial services industry. His past positions include Collateral Services Manager for Washington Mutual, Regional Chief Appraiser for Bank of America, Division Appraisal Manager for World Savings, and Mortgage Group Leader for Wachovia Bank.
Jim grew up in Ohio in a real estate family, as the son of a successful appraiser and real estate broker. He was photographing homes, measuring buildings, and attending open houses from an early age through high school. After attending Ohio State University for two years, Jim relocated to Oregon. He later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Concordia University in Portland with a degree in Business Management and Communications.
As a certified residential appraiser, Jim’s 28 years of professional appraisal practice includes valuation services for eminent domain, lending, litigation, marketing, and relocation purposes. In addition, Jim has developed numerous qualifying and continuing education courses and training seminars for industry professionals. He frequently presents customized training for agents, appraisers, loan originators, loan processors, and mortgage underwriters.
Jim knows how vitally important it is that agents, appraisers, and lenders understand the best ways to ensure compliance with the industry’s far-reaching, ongoing regulatory changes. He served for four years on Oregon’s Appraiser Certification and Licensure Board (ACLB), which is the state’s regulatory agency for appraisers and Appraisal Management Companies. Jim provided executive leadership as the state regulatory Board Chair from 2014 through 2016.
He currently serves on the executive board of the Oregon Mortgage Bankers Association
(OMBA) and chairs the Oregon Association of Realtor’s Appraisal Subcommittee (OAR). Bernerd Boarnet, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor
New Braunfels, TX
Boarnet is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Engineering and has had extensive experience in both engineering and real estate. He began his appraisal career in 1985 and is now a Texas State Certified General Appraiser, AQB-certified USPAP instructor and real estate broker. He has conducted appraisals throughout south-central Texas on a variety of types of real property. He is a member of the National and Texas Associations of Realtors© and has earned the designation Master Senior Appraiser from the National Association of Master Appraisers. He is also a member of the Association of Texas Appraisers, holding the designation ATA-G.
Boarnet is a retired US Army Reserve Officer and it was there that he began his teaching career teaching at the Command and General Staff School level in the 1970s. He has taught both pre-license and continuing education appraisal courses for several schools and associations and has lectured on behalf of Columbia throughout the United States. Like most of the Columbia Faculty members, he enjoys teaching because he feels that in doing so he is giving something back to the profession.
He and his wife Esther, an active real estate broker, live in the San Antonio suburb of New Braunfels.
Dave earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University. He is also certified user in Marshall & Swift Cost Approach and is a certified user of Marshall and Swift Cost Approach.
Dave has been a residential appraiser in North Texas, for over 8 years. He has also been an appraisal reviewer, reviewer manager and quality assurance associate.
Currently, Dave is Sr. Professional in Valuation Quality. He considers his primary role to be in “all things BPO”. BPO Processes and procedures, BPO forms, review checklists, guidelines, reference materials, communications, and audits.
Lloyd English, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor
Lloyd has been a real estate appraiser for over 15 years and an educator a little longer than that. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Southern University. Lloyd is a member of National Association Master Appraisers, National Association Real Estate Appraisers, National Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, Houston Association of Realtors, Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council, and a Life Member of the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association.
Kevin Hecht, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Kevin Hecht presently serves as Leader - Valuation Production at CoreLogic. In this role, he leads appraisal teams in the Midwest. Kevin began his appraisal career in 1987 and has appraised various types of residential properties, as well as, worked as a staff appraiser, District Manager and Regional Manager for CoreLogic. Kevin earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Master of Business Administration from Fontbonne University and Master's in Economics from the University of Detroit Mercy. Kevin is an IDECC Certified Distance Education Instructor. In addition to real estate appraisal, Kevin also teaches Economics at several Colleges and Universities and is a member of the American Economic Association. Kevin is a Certified Real Estate Appraiser in Missouri.
Diana Jacob, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor
Diana T. Jacob has been involved in real property appraisal since 1990. She holds the certified general certification from the states of North Carolina, Georgia and Texas and residential certification from the state of Louisiana. She has actively practiced appraising in both North Carolina and Louisiana. She is certified to teach the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) of the Appraisal Foundation and has taught a variety of appraisal courses throughout the US for several schools and associations.
She is well known as a prominent appraisal instructor and author, beginning with financial analysis of income-producing properties in 1990 and developing into land and residential subjects. She currently teaches both qualifying and continuing education courses and has had authored more than twenty-five formal publications including papers, course curriculum and texts. Her most recent and comprehensive writing is the Appraisers' Desk Reference, Volume 1 - Completing the URAR, which is published by the Columbia Institute and provides step-by-step guidance, including recommended comments for both FHA and conventional appraisals. She has been a member of the Senior Faculty of Columbia Institute since 2004.
She resides in Lafayette, LA.
Bennett graduated from San Diego State University, majoring in Economics and began his real estate appraisal career in the early 1990s as a staff appraiser for several major lenders. He has served as an appraisal manager and currently is a Valuation Production Manager with CoreLogic.
Bennett has taught at Real Estate Principles and Practice, with the goal of staying on top of new technologies, trends and historical events, and seeing the spark of understanding on the faces of students.
Martin Molloy, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor
Martin J. Molloy entered the appraisal profession in 1971 with Joseph Blake & Associates in New York at their main office. He has Certified General Certificates from New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. He holds an ASA Real Property Urban Designation for the American Society of Appraisers and has been President of the New Mexico Chapter three times. His education includes several undergraduate and graduate degrees.
He has been teaching the appraisal program at the University of New Mexico since 1991. He also teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at the College of Santa Fe since the mid 1990's. These courses include economics, finance, and accounting. Marty has owned Molloy & Associates since the mid-70's, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico which conducts both residential and commercial appraisals. He has been recognized as an expert witness in various local and federal courts.
His interests include being a public affairs officer with the Coast Guard Auxilliary, boating, model railroading, trap and skeet shooting and various hobbies.
Roy Morris, III, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor
Roy Morris has been an instructor of qualifying and continuing education including USPAP for over 15 years. In addition to serving on the Appraisal Foundation as a trustee and the Appraisal Foundation Advisory Council, he was an investigator for his state appraisal board.
Roy Morris has been an expert witness on USPAP as well as real estate valuation issues in three states.

Robinson, a Houston, Texas resident, is a Texas certified general appraiser, real estate broker, certified environmental inspector and lead base paint inspector. Robinson received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Texas Southern University in Houston. He is s member of the National Society of Real Estate Appraisers, General Accredited Appraiser with the National Association of Realtors and an Affiliate Member of the National Association of Review Appraisers.
Dane Sever, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor
Dane graduated from Indiana University, majoring in Real Estate Administration and began his real estate and appraisal career in 1979. He married Ann in 1980 and the following year the Severs moved to Houston, Texas.
Dane opened Sever and Associates in 1986 and was awarded the Independent Fee Appraiser designation (IFA) from the National Association of Real Estate Appraiser (NAIFA) in 1988. He received the Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation from Worldwide ERC in 1990. He is a certified residential appraiser in Texas and carries a real estate brokers license in Texas as well.
Dane’s first teaching assignment was with Houston Community College around 1989 and he also became an instructor of NAIFA courses about this time. Dane is a contract investigator and appraiser Mentor with the Texas Appraisal Licensing and Certification Board.
Jenny graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics. She immediately began her real estate appraisal career in 1991, appraising urban/suburban residential properties. In 2005 she became a Sr. National Review Appraiser for Greenpoint Mortgage. In 2007 Jenny moved to CoreLogic where she served as a Sr. Review Appraiser and Review Manager.
Jenny presently serves as Principal Program Manager for CoreLogic Platinum Valuation Services where she oversees CoreLogic’s Appraiser Trainee Program. All 200 hours of qualifying education requirements for the Appraiser Trainee Program are taken through The Columbia Institute via on-line, in-class, and virtual courses of which Jenny plays an integral part as one of the lead instructors.
Steven Smith started working at CoreLogic in 2015 at the Technical Support Desk. In 2017 Steven took over the Internal Training for the Residential and Commercial handbooks and tools. He supported online and software solutions and was the product expert at the desk.
Today Steven is a Client Training Professional who schedules, coordinates and conducts training onsite, as well as online. Steven has conducted training for the Technical Support Desk, Inside Sales, and Client Services. Steve is also certified as a Distance Education Instructor.
Heather Sullivan presently serves as Sr. Leader of appraiser education at CoreLogic |The Columbia Institute. In this role, she leads the valuation training programs and CoreLogic's appraiser education initiatives, including the Appraisal Summit & Expo held annually in Las Vegas, NV. Heather has developed and taught curriculum for residential appraisers across the country. Heather began her appraisal career in 1999 and has appraised various types of residential properties, as well as, worked as a reviewer, review manager, lead appraiser and internal educator for CoreLogic. Sullivan earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Finance from University of Idaho and is an IDECC Certified Distance Education Instructor. In 2018, Heather achieved designation as an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor. Sullivan is a Certified Real Property Appraiser in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana and California.
Pam Teel, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor
Pam spent five years working for the real estate appraisal department at USAA Federal Savings Bank where she was instrumental in standing up the appraisal operations and governance departments. She was responsible for development and delivery of all appraisal training for the departments. Prior to joining USAA, she was President of Corpus Christi Appraisal Service where she and her staff performed commercial, industrial, and residential appraisal services throughout the South Texas area. Pam has been a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser for over 20 years. In April of 2014, Pam achieved designation as an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor. She has also been appointed by the State of Texas Appraiser Licensing Certification Board to the Peer Investigative Committee and as a Mentor. Prior to becoming a real estate appraiser, Pam was the Vice President of Operations for a commercial property management company, managing office buildings, shopping centers, and apartment buildings. She is married to the Artist formerly known as Professor, Harold Teel. They have three children, and nine grandchildren.
Stanley Timari, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Stan has been a licensed real estate broker since 1979 and appraiser since 1989. He has been the Chief Appraiser for several banks while perusing some of his passions like being a church organist and choir director. Stan and his wife have directed musicals and children’s plays in their local community as well.
Stan has taught real estate classes for Wagner College and Appraisal Licensing Courses for Lehman College in New York. He is a Certified USPAP Instructor and Certified Distance Education Instructor.
Stan and his wife Muriel have three sons who are sort of following in their footsteps and one grandson who may, someday, do the same.
